SALVATION ROAD, KAL'S FIRST NOVEL, WAS FIRST PUBLISHED IN 1994 BY EXTABLISMENT PRESS. RELEASED AS A "SPLIT' WORK OF LITERATURE, ALA THE SPLIT 7" INCH RECORDS BY LABELS SUCH AS SUBPOP, FEATURING JOHN ROA OF JUSTICE LEAGUE (THE SEMINAL INLAND VALLEY PUNK BAND FROM THE 80'S) DOING A CHAPBOOK OF POEMS AND SHORT FICTION ON ONE SIDE. ON THE FLIP SIDE WAS THE NOVEL BY KAL, SALVATION ROAD, ABOUT WORKING WITH THE HOMELESS ON THIRD STREET PROMENADE IN SANTA MONICA, CA IN THE 1990S AND PLAYING IN THE BAND THE UNDERTOAD.
